• Download/install R, RStudio (see slides).

• Explore the “Help” menu, “RStudio Docs”, “RStudio Community Forum”, “Cheatsheets -> RStudio IDE Cheat Sheet”, “Browse cheatsheets…”, “Keyboard Shortcut Help”.

• Subscribe to Cheatsheet updates at RStudio Cheatsheets.

• Read sections “2 Why R?” and “3 R and RStudio Basics”. Make sure to watch the videos.

1. Introduce yourself. Write a few sentences:

   • Your Department/Program
   • What are your programming skills, on the scale 0 (novice) to 10 (professional)
   • What Operating System are you using
   • What you hope to learn from this part of the course
2. Describe all ways how to find the following R parameters (Run the functions on your computer, copy-paste the output and describe your observations):
   • R version
   • R installation path
   • R library path(s)

3. Submit your homework as a text file or Word document. Files should be named, e.g., LASTNAME-FIRSTNAME-HW01.
